Fall Greetings to all of our Unity Community!
First off, thank you to everyone who helped kick off the season at our “Fall Into the Beat” event in October. Many contributed their time, effort, resources, talent and/or presence to make it a resounding success, a joyful night spent in loving community!
It’s November already, a time for releasing what no longer serves us. As we reflect upon the past year and make plans for the holidays, let’s take some time to examine our prosperity consciousness. Are there some limiting ideas that need to be relinquished, individually and/or as a community, in order for us to thrive and grow?
The status quo is not an option, friends! Our income has not met our expenses again this year. Although we were much closer than last year, we still had to withdraw a considerable amount from our no-longer-so-considerable savings in order to make ends meet.
This is obviously not a sustainable model, so we have set an ambitious goal of $12,000 for our end-of-year fundraiser. By committing to use our power of discernment to determine what is ours to give—and by remaining open to other sources of income—we can help our community thrive and grow. We can enter fully into the flow of divine prosperity by giving fully to, and receiving fully from, all that our beloved Unity by the Shore has to offer!
To celebrate our collective progress, a festive candy cane will be displayed in the sanctuary of Unity by the Shore, with each stripe representing $1,000.

A Season of Sacred Illumination
Dear Friends,
As November draws to a close, we enter the sacred season of Advent—a time of anticipation, reflection, and renewal. In Christian tradition, Advent heralds the coming of the Christ Child. Metaphysically, it signifies the awakening of the indwelling Spirit—the birth of Divine Awareness within the heart of humanity.
This holy season invites us to honor the inner light that lives in every soul. Whether celebrated as the Christ Light, the flames of Hanukkah, the return of the sun, or the quiet radiance of awakening consciousness, this Light is universal, eternal, and alive within us all.
Throughout the four weeks before Christmas, we are called to embody Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy. This year, we will reflect on these qualities through scenes from One Magic Christmas, a film that tenderly mirrors the soul’s journey from despair to wonder.
Ginnie Grainger begins the film weary and without faith, unable to perceive goodness or possibility. Yet signs of Divine Light and Divine Life gently persist—her children’s unshakable belief in possibility, Jack’s steadfast love, and the angel Gideon’s patient guidance. Through them, Ginnie is reminded of what she once knew: that Hope is real, Peace is possible, Love is ever-present, and Joy can be reborn.
Just as Ginnie awakens to the miracle within and around her, we too are invited to notice the gentle rebirth of Divine Presence in our own hearts and to let the Light within us shine more fully.
Let us embody Hope as the inner flame that refuses to go out, even when life feels heavy.
Let us live Peace by dwelling in the still center of Being.
Let us radiate Love through compassionate presence.
Let us know Joy as the natural song of the awakened soul.
May this season inspire us to share our Light generously—brightening our homes, our community, and our world.

As the holiday season draws near, many hearts feel the tender ache of missing loved ones who are no longer with us. You are warmly invited to join Rev. Angela Denton for a Ceremony of Remembrance, a gentle, sacred gathering to honor and celebrate those we carry within our hearts.
This one-hour ceremony offers space to remember with tenderness, companion one another with presence, and allow love to flow where words may fall short. Together, we will light candles, speak names into the Light, reflect, and bless our memories with gratitude.
What to Bring

In the quiet company of remembrance, we open to the truth that grief and love are companions. What has been lost to the eye remains alive in the heart. May this gathering remind us that we do not walk alone—we are changed, yet ever held by Love Itself.
