Rev. Angela Denton is the minister of Unity by the Shore (UBTS) in Neptune, NJ, and has served as its spiritual leader since 2015. A compassionate and heart-centered presence, Rev. Angela is deeply devoted to spiritual growth, transformation, and the awakening of Divine potential in all people. She has been an active leader within the Unity movement for over twenty-five years.
Rev. Angela has served on the Unity Worldwide Eastern Region Board of Trustees for six years, including three years as president. Prior to becoming a Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT) and later an ordained minister, she also served for two years as a lay leader on the Unity Worldwide Ministries Board of Trustees. She continues to contribute to the Unity Worldwide Ministries Eastern Region Conference Planning Team.
Her commitment to spiritual deepening includes formal training as a Spiritual Director through Unity Worldwide Ministries. She is also a certified Quantum Living Coach through the Quantum Living Training Program developed by Drs. Gary and Jane Simmons and Dr. Rima Bonario.
Most recently, Rev. Angela has been certified in Grief Companioning and as a Grief Sharing Circle Facilitator through the Metta Center under the guidance of Dr. Janice Lundy. These specialized trainings deepen her capacity to companion individuals experiencing grief, loss, life transitions, and times of spiritual seeking. She has also studied energy-based healing modalities, including Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy (IET), which continue to inform her compassionate and holistic approach to spiritual care.
Before entering ministry, Rev. Angela served as a public school special educator for thirty years and spent ten years in private practice supporting and empowering individuals, couples, and families as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, a Master’s degree in Psychological Services/Behavioral Science, and a postgraduate degree and Professional Diploma in Marriage and Family Therapy—bringing a depth of wisdom, compassion, and lived experience to her ministry and her work as a Spiritual Director and Companion.
