Ash Wednesday Ceremony

March 06, 2019, Ash Wednesday, marks the beginning of the Lenten season which is observed by many Christian Faiths worldwide.  During the season of Lent, the forty days leading up to Easter Sunday, many Christians focus on simple living, prayer, and fasting in order to grow closer to God.  In Unity, Lent metaphysically represents an opportunity to “fast” from erroneous and self- defeating thinking and behaviors that create the consciousness of fear and separation.    Through our Spiritual Powers of Elimination and Life, we have an opportunity on a daily basis not only during Lent to release dualistic egoic thinking and behavior and to animate our Divine Light.  

Please join us in a reflective prayer ceremony where you will have an opportunity to cleanse your consciousness, affirm Truth, and select a Spiritual Power to consciously embody.  Sacred palm ash will be distributed as a symbol of dying to the old and being reborn to new life.

Spirit of Peace, Unity by the Shore’s beloved band, will be playing historical and commemorative pieces. Intertwined between each performance will be recitations of readings that will speak to the significance and symbolism of each song and time for prayerful reflection.

After the service, we will come together in fellowship as we indulge in cultural soul food. We invite you to join us and bring a cultural dish to share.

Feb 3, 2019 – VHSK “Souper” Bowl Sunday

Vincent’s Healing Soup Kitchen is a ministry of Unity by the Shore.

On Sunday, February 3, 2019 we will be hosting our 1st Annual “Souper Bowl” Sunday from noon – 1 pm

This is an invitation to come and enjoy a hot bowl of nourishing, organic, homemade soup and have some friendly conversation.

There will be many soup options available including a dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian and more.    

All are welcome.  It’s Free.  Bring your smile and your appetite.
