Dear Friends,

I understand that we all have busy lives and often our weekends are filled with family, leisure, events, and preparation for the upcoming week.  Although our lives are full, and we have the convenience of accessing everything for our devices, I believe there is value in connecting with members and friends of Unity by the Shore from time to time.

Commencing October 29th, I would like to institute Fellowship Sunday.  One Sunday of each month will be selected for us to carve out time for one another after the Sunday service to commune with each other.  Local people I invite you to come in person to our service that Sunday and bring a small plate of food to share.  For those who live a distance or cannot attend in person, I invite you to get a cup of tea or coffee and a treat and stay for some Zoom fellowship after the service.

The power of community is built on cultivating relationships.  I invite you to connect with old friends and to also open yourself up to introducing yourself to members and friends you do not know.

In the words of Caroline Myss, “There is no such thing as a simple act of compassion or an inconsequential act of service. Everything we do for another person has infinite consequences.”  Your compassionate and welcoming presence matters. Never underestimate the power of a smile, of listening, and sharing kind and inspiring words with another.  Through the years, I have heard stories of how the welcoming and compassionate presence of one person or a few people from our beloved community had such an impact in their lives.  Let us continue to pay this forward to those who are newly discovering Unity by The Shore and to familiar friends.

This experience will be offered in-person by Aryelle Morgan at Unity by the Shore and will be streamed via our Zoom platform.  For in-person attendees, you are welcome to bring a yoga mat, pillows, and/or blankets to this service.  An open space will be provided for you at UBTS; for those joining from home, we suggest you arrange your space and technology accordingly. Those wishing to remain seated in a chair are welcome to do so as well.

Autumn is the time of year when we celebrate the bountiful harvest of apples, pears, pumpkins, butternut squash, potatoes, carrots, beets, and so many other delectable gems from Mother Earth.  Yum!

As the air turns crisp, many of us put on our favorite sweaters and begin to gather indoors with family and friends to reflect on our everyday, phenomenal blessings.

One by one the trees shed their leaves in preparation for the cold winter months, readying themselves to conserve energy and to generate new growth in spring.   Nature models for us the importance of going within, letting go of the past and self-limiting ways of being, and readying ourselves for our own spiritual growth and renewal. 

Prayer and meditation are two powerful spiritual practices that support us in our transformative journey.  I invite you to join me in meditative prayer to savor our blessings, prepare for the journey of letting go, and to cultivate a deeper connection with the Wisdom of our Divine Souls.
