This is an exciting, hands-on interdisciplinary educational program designed to demonstrate the inter-dependency of all plants and animals. The MCFC staff will guide students on a fascinating exploration of our environment, starting at the base of the food web with the plankton and culminating with humans. Through hands-on interconnected stations –including plankton study, live exhibits aquarium, water chemistry, watershed model, creative dramatics, and music, the young mind will be brought to a deeper understanding of our need for clean, clear water. The dependence of one species on another, the effect of human industry on our environment, and the role each of us plays in shaping the present and future through choices we make are the themes of our program.
This Traveling Environmental Festival is a great educational tool for children of all ages. While the target audience are grades 2 through 6, the curriculum has been tailored to accommodate older and younger audiences.
Traveling Environmental Festival–The Stations:

Introduction: Welcome to our water-dependent world! Clean, clear water is a precious commodity. The student is introduced to the food web and the dangers that threaten it.
Plankton: Come with us and explore the microscopic world where the phyto- and the zooplankton lurk. The station leader will teach students to handle scientific instruments and identify living specimens.
Life in the Water: In the aquarium we see underwater creatures in their natural habitat. Using a study guide the students will identify the specimens and the functions of the various organisms.
Watershed: How does the water get polluted. The students will discover, through the use of an interactive watershed model, how human day-to-day, earthly practices and neglect foul our waters and eventually affect our own health. By participating, the students will understand what they can do to help.
Water Testing: The health and well being of all living creatures depend on the habitat in which they live. With the students’ assistance, the station leader will conduct scientific tests to determine the level of dissolved oxygen, nutrients, acidity, and toxins in the aquatic environment.
Closing: Meet Iva Choice, with a coat of many pockets, who challenges the students to think about what they do. Through thought-provoking actions and responses, the children will discover that they truly have a choice and can make a difference! The whole program is laced with humor and song that gives it it’s Festival name.

“Spiritual Economics” By Eric Butterworth
“SPIRITUAL ECONOMICS”
The Principles and Process of True Prosperity
By Eric Butterworth
Taught by Rev. Joanne
Thursdays from 1-3 pm
June 27, 2013 – August 29, 2013
If you want “true prosperity” come to this class!
This book is a prosperity “classic” by Eric Butterworth, who as a Unity minister in NYC, drew thousands of people to his Sunday services, classes and Sunday evening radio programs. He taught the truth of abundance – that we need to turn the focus of our attention away from lack, layoffs, and limitations, and on to the omnipresence of universal substance.
Join us as we keep our thoughts centered on abundance, eliminating thoughts of fear, limitation, and “I cannot.” Let’s talk about what you do want!
~~ Love Offering ~~
LIVING IN THE MOMENT
Do you ever feel that time is passing by and you are not keeping up with it? Or, are you worrying about something that may happen in the future? Or, are you feeling guilty about some-thing that happened in the past?
The truth is that you are making up these thoughts—and that’s all they are—THOUGHTS. It may not be easy tobecome aware of the PRESENT MOMENT. But you CAN train yourself to be aware of what you are thinking.
The good news is that the CONFRONTING MOMENT IS ALL THERE IS…ALL THERE EVER WAS IN YOUR LIFE…ALL THERE EVER WILL BE…AND IT IS YOUR FUTURE. Didn’t you first get the thought to take a certain action that led to the job you may have in the confronting moment? You first met the man or woman who became your spouse—in the confronting moment. You saw a book on a shelf that may have led you into Truth—in the confronting moment.
Many times human beings wait for life to become perfect, but you can start working in the confronting moment byworking with what you’ve got. Accept it, bless it, give thanks. We all have God-Given Gifts, which we can give to othersas we, together, walk this Spiritual path!
There is ABUNDANCE IN EVERY DAY, and by living in the present moment, you will experience God’s gifts.Staying in the NOW, doing your best, and participating fully today are all you need to do—to assure yourself that what’sgoing to happen tomorrow will be for your Highest Good.
Blessings—In this Sacred Moment,
Rev. Joanne Murphy
