Conflict is part of the human experience and individuals react to it in various ways. Some people avoid conflict by leaving relationships, jobs, organizations, and/or ministries/churches when the appearance of a challenging individual, group of people, and/or situation arises. Others like to face it head-on like a linebacker ready to plow down anyone or anything that appears to be “against” them. Some dig their heels in and are not willing to see more than their point of view. Still, others watch from the sidelines with great uneasiness or stand in judgment of others looking for someone to blame. All of the reactions depicted above are forms of resisting conflict in disempowering ways.
The I of the Storm Sunday Series based on the book, The I of the Storm written by Gary Simmons, will support you in understanding the nature of conflict, being present to it, and being spiritually transformed by it.
