WELCOME TO UNITY BY THE SHORE!
Your signing on was by "Divine Appointment" - as we believe there is no "coincidence" in the Divine Plan! Let us introduce you to our teachings.
Unity By Shore's congregation is part of a worldwide movement of more than 1,000 Unity churches and study groups. Unity teaches that every person has direct access to God. We acknowledge that every person is truly created in the "image and likeness" of God. The divine part of you is your own indwelling Spirit. This means that God is always with you to hide, heal, and prosper you.
REV. JOANNE MURPHY
Dear Friends,
“Whoever wants to be great must become a
servant”
(Mark 10:43)
This church has experienced what I consider to be amazing
achievement in its spiritual awakening, education and leadership
training pursuits. My deepest desire is to empower everyone who
walks through these doors to discover their unique spiritual gifts
and encourage them to express them in this community, in their world
and in the world at large. It’s about letting your light shine!
Seventeen new members were inducted this past Spring to join and
further the wonderful work of this truly amazing church
congregation! I praise our congregation, each and every one, for the
genuine love and care they give to everyone in our wonderful diverse
community. It is so evident in the energy that emanates every Sunday
service. The truth is that everyone needs and wants to be loved, and
when people find a church where members demonstrate what you do,
you can’t keep them away!
Our church is growing and that brings me to my next deepest desire –
to have
Congregants who experience greatness. Greatness, as Jesus measured
it, is in
terms of service, not status. With growth comes greater
responsibility and greater needs in the areas of continuing
education, administration, technology and the many
ministries to serve this growing congregation. In Matthew 7:16 it
says “You can tell what they are by what they do.” And, in Mark
10:43 it says “Whoever wants to be great must become a servant.”
I invite you to consider how you are called to share your light, to
step into your greatness, to let God work through you, as you. I’m
not talking about “volunteerism” as I am about manifesting the glory
of God that is within you. How do you know that? It lifts your
spirit and makes you feel truly alive. Oh, it is easy to focus on
what is wrong, what is missing in your life or in this church. But
what if, instead, we turned that around and asked “how can I share
me and, in so doing, have a greater experience of life? What if we
let God give through us and did things we hadn’t thought of before?
What if we did those things as a gift of pure unconditional love,
rather than just as a way to make ourselves feel better? This is a
consciousness of selfless service. The more you focus on what you
have to share with gratitude for the gifts that God has given you –
and the more you give without thinking of outcomes or rewards – the
more available you are to just show up and do whatever is needed. In
return, you are more blessed and more helpful to others.
So, let’s open our hearts to selfless service and all the glorious
blessings that entails.
I invite you to take the “next” spiritual step, to go deeper by
serving in whatever place or role that God has in Mind for you, His
Beloved Child!
In Gratitude for Your Generous Support,
Rev. Joanne M. Murphy
